Monique “Neeki” Smith

MS Oriental Medicine, Diplomate Acupuncture (NCCAOM)

Neeki holds a MS degree in Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (2005) and a BS from the University of Maryland University College (1998).
She has held clinical practices in Boise, ID and Raleigh, NC specially in pain and nutrition. She was a lecturer and consultant of the Miridia Technology’s Digital Meridian Imaging system and Chinese herbal pharmacopeia (Acugraph), was the Co-Founder & CEO of www.MDAlternative.com (an online health magazine/store), and Founder of Food is Medicine – a public lecture series on how to eat for your disease and PDA program. Her newest venture is the launch of Supplement Answer; Do It Yourself Health, an online health magazine outlining her cutting edge clinically researched food and supplement protocols coupled with supplement sales.

Frustrated with her patient’s lack of resolution of their medical conditions in clinical practice, Neeki discovered they all had nutritional deficiencies as an underlying issue, even those that ate well. Bent on her own health journey and those of her patients, she delved into clinical studies and the myriad “diets” and learned “eating your veggies” wasn’t enough – achieving your health goals is a much more comprehensive program involving the right kind and amount of fats, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals and trace elements while detoxifying and removing toxins with whole food supplements. This adventure led her to create Food is Medicine to teach people and practitioners how to quickly and smoothly transition into a food lifestyle that is satisfying, sustainable and results in vibrant health.
